Ministries and Programs

Calix Society of Central Arkansas

Helps alcoholics in recovery and their families come together for support and spiritual healing. The group is Catholic, guided by a chaplain and open to all faiths. Calix, pronounced “kaylicks," is not a substitute for Alcoholics Anonymous, Al-Anon or any other 12-step program. For more information, e-mail calix@dolr.org or attend a meeting.

Catholic Adoption Services

Provides post-adoption services that include assistance with search and reunions. To inquire about these services, contact us.

Catholic Campaign for Human Development

Supports activities thqat help people who are poor, vulnerable and living on the margins in Arkansas as part of a larger anti-poverty and social justice program of the U.S. Conference of Catholic Bishops.

Catholic Charities Medical Clinic

Volunteer medical professionals and others provide free health care services to patients 18 and older who are unable to afford routine health care in partnership with the Divine Mercy Health Center.

Catholic Immigration Services

With offices in Little Rock and Springdale, this ministry provides low-cost immigration counseling and support to families and individuals who are eligible for immigration benefits and cannot afford an attorney. This includes help for Victims of Human Trafficking and Domestic Violence. Make an appointment for a consultation.

Catholic Relief Services (CRS)

Raises awareness of Catholic Relief Services’ work and provides information on ways people can become involved in Arkansas. Catholics in the diocese support this program through CRS Rice Bowl and the annual CRS Collection, both during Lent.

Disaster Preparedness and Response

Helps survivors and communities devastated by natural disasters in Arkansas with case management services through the long-term recovery process. | Disaster Relief Fund

Prison Ministry

Oversees a volunteer-based ministry that responds to the spiritual needs of those who are incarcerated in Arkansas prisons and jails. See locations for Prison Ministries in Arkansas.

Refugee Resettlement

For many years, the Refugee Resettlement Program has welcomed refugees from other parts of the world to Arkansas. When the number of refugees immigrating is down, the office focuses on providing supportive services to people with refugee status who have been resettled through Catholic Charities of Arkansas. Social Action Ministry

Educates and promotes Catholic social teaching and advocates on behalf of the Diocese of Little Rock by interacting with state representatives and senators to inform them of the Church’s position on pending state legislation. To learn more, see Why is the Church Involved?
