The international 40 Days for Life ministry highlights prayer, fasting and a peaceful, prayer vigil outside an abortion facility to pray for an end to abortion. The fall campaign, which is being held in locations worldwide, will be Sept. 25 - Nov. 3. In Arkansas, participants will be praying outside Planned Parenthood at 1222 West Poplar St. in Rogers. The Faith Formation Office began offering a new Catechist Certification Course in February 2023 in English. On Aug. 1, it became available in Spanish as well. The 20-lesson, free online program offers video instruction presented by Arkansas clergy, religious and laity at Learn.DOLR.org. Bishop Anthony B. Taylor will celebrate deacon recommitment Masses in two regions of the state this summer. All permanent deacons and their wives are expected to attend one of the following Masses: Sunday, July 7 at Morris Hall Chapel on the grounds of St. John Catholic Center in Little Rock at 11 a.m.; and Saturday, Sept. 7 at Holy Angels Convent in Jonesboro at 3:30 p.m. A third Mass was scheduled for June 2 at St. Vincent de Paul Church in Rogers, but it was canceled because of tornado damage in the city.
