Online Mass options are plentiful

Updated July 30, 2021

Bishop Anthony B. Taylor announced that he was lifting the dispensation from the obligation to attend Sunday Mass (in person) on Oct. 1, 2020, for those in good health. The dispensation remains in effect for those under certain conditions, which include: those who are ill; those who are under quarantine or isolation due to Covid-19; those who are especially vulnerable to Covid-19 or caring for someone who is especially vulnerable (e.g., due to chronic illness, advanced age, or in a high risk group as defined by the CDC); and those who, after serious prayer and deliberation, remain very fearful of attending Mass due to Covid-19.

For those still unable to attend Mass in person, several options are available to the faithful to watch Mass online or on television. If you miss the recording live, the recordings are available for playback at any time. Please confirm times with the parish to make sure you have the most up to date information. Masses are listed below in alphabetical order by name in Arkansas, followed by Masses to watch outside Arkansas. Help us keep this information updated. If your parish is celebrating Mass online and it is not listed below, or if your listing has changed, please Contact Us and let us know and we will update this information as soon as possible. If unable to receive the Eucharist sacramentally at this time, we invite you to receive Jesus through spiritual communion. What is Spiritual Communion?

St. Thomas Aquinas described it as “an ardent desire to receive Jesus in the most holy sacrament and lovingly embrace him” at a time or in circumstances when we cannot receive him in sacramental Communion. In his encyclical, "Ecclesia de Eucharistia" ("A Eucharistic Church"), in April 2003, St. John Paul II encouraged the practice of spiritual communion, “which has been a wonderful part of Catholic life for centuries and recommended by saints who were masters of the spiritual life.” Learn more by reading this article by Father Jerome Kodell, OSB, or watch the video below by Father Jason Tyler.
