We adore you, O Christ, and we praise you. Because by your holy cross you have redeemed the world.

Mary was the first one to see him naked. Her baby boy. Beautiful. Perfectly formed. Created in the image and likeness of God. "Fearfully and wonderfully made." How did it come to this? Her baby boy now a man. Still beautiful. Still in the image and likeness of his Father. Yet now he stands before the crowd, stripped, bowed and beaten. How can this be? In the beginning, Mary knew not what her yes would cost. Why did she do it? Love. How did she do it? She trusted her Father. Jesus knew the cost would be his life. He said yes too. It was the will of his Father, to be stripped of anything and everything that stood between them. Why did he do it? For our salvation. How did he do it? He trusted his Father. We are invited to imitate Mary and her Son. Allow God to strip us of anything and everything that stands between us and him. Why do it? For love and salvation. How do we do it? Trust our Father. Say yes.
