This annual disaster training conference, hosted by Catholic Charities USA, is being offered virtually this year to safeguard against COVID-19. It is free and open to anyone interested in or working in parish disaster response. The registration deadline is Nov. 27. Details about how to participate online are provided upon registration. Register online. Rebecca Cargile, diocesan director of parish social ministry, is promoting this event in the Diocese of Little Rock. She said participants can choose which sessions they want to attend, and plenary sessions are also included. The Parish Social Ministry Office ovesees the Disaster Preparedness Program, which helps people prepare for emergencies and natural disasters, and the Disaster Response Program, which helps victims and communities devastated by natural disasters in Arkansas through the long process of recovery.
