The primary focus of the Spiritan priests (CSSp), also known as the Holy Ghost Fathers, is the evangelization of the poor. They serve peoples, groups, and individuals who have not yet heard the message of the Gospel or who have scarcely heard it, those whose needs are the greatest, and the oppressed. Traditionally they serve in areas for which the Church has difficulty in finding workers.
