CPJ to train leaders in parish youth ministry

The diocesan Hispanic Ministry Office is sponsoring a training program to lead parish youth ministry through its Curso de Formacion en Pastoral Juvenil (CPJ). 

This eight-course training program, presented in Spanish, is certificated by the Institute for Faith and Life. It is open to youth and single young adults ages 16 and older and will be offered at St. John Catholic Center in Little Rock from July to October and at St. Augustine Church in Dardanelle from August to November.

Each course is held from 8 a.m. Saturdays to 5:30 p.m. Sundays and focuses on topics such as introduction to youth ministry, Jesus, the center and goal of youth ministry, the sacraments and Christian living, how people mature, the mission of the Church and young people, effective youth ministry techniques, principals of ministry planning, spirituality of young people and youth ministry and a retreat based on the parable of the laborers in the vineyard.
