Bishop releases pastoral changes May 20

Bishop Anthony B. Taylor announced the following pastoral appointments May 20, 2020, for the Diocese of Little Rock:

Effective May 20, 2020:

  • Rev. Phillip Reaves, appointed temporary administrator of St. Boniface Church in New Dixie (Bigelow), St. Francis of Assisi Church in Roland (Little Italy) and St. Elizabeth Church in Oppelo to Aug. 31, 2020. This is in addition to his current responsibilities as director of prison ministry in the Diocese of Little Rock.
  • Msgr. Jack D. Harris, appointed pastor of Catholic Campus Ministry in Conway. This is in addition to his current responsibilities as pastor of Sacred Heart Church in Morrilton, and St. Joseph Church in Center Ridge.

Effective May 27, 2020:

  • Deacon Joseph Friend, appointed associate campus minister of Catholic Campus Ministry in Conway. This is in addition to his responsibilities as deacon of Sacred Heart Church in Morrilton, and St. Joseph Church in Center Ridge, previously announced on April 30, 2020.
  • Rev. Patrick Friend, appointed temporary prefect of the House of Formation in Little Rock to July 26, 2020. This is in addition to his current responsibilities as chaplain of Catholic High School for Boys in Little Rock.
  • Rev. Gregory T. Luyet, JCL, appointed director of pastoral formation in the House of Formation in Little Rock. This is in addition to his responsibilities as judicial vicar of the Diocese of Little Rock, and pastor of Our Lady of Good Counsel Church in Little Rock.

Effective July 27, 2020:

  • Rev. Jeffrey Hebert, appointed prefect of the House of Formation in Little Rock, and assistant vocations director of the Diocese of Little Rock. He is relieved of his responsibilities as associate pastor of St. Joseph Church in Conway, and St. Oscar Romero Catholic Community in Greenbrier.
  • Rev. Joseph de Orbegozo, PhL, appointed associate pastor of St. Joseph Church in Conway and St. Oscar Romero Catholic Community in Greenbrier. He remains part-time teacher at the House of Formation in Little Rock. He is relieved of his responsibilities as associate pastor of Immaculate Heart of Mary Church in North Little Rock (Marché) and St. Mary Church in North Little Rock.
  • Rev. Juan Manjarrez, appointed sacramental minister of Immaculate Heart of Mary Church in North Little Rock (Marché, and St. Mary Church in North Little Rock. This is in addition to his current responsibilities as pastor of St. Edward Church and part-time service in the Tribunal of the Diocese of Little Rock.
  • Msgr. Scott Friend, appointed sacramental minister of St. Edward Church in Little Rock, Immaculate Heart of Mary Church in North Little Rock (Marché) and St. Mary Church in North Little Rock. This is in addition to his current responsibilities as diocesan director of vocations, and minister to priests.

Further changes are planned for later in the summer, to take effect Sept. 1, following the August ordinations to the priesthood.
