The 10th Pilgrimage for Peace, organized by Pax Christi of Little Rock, will be held Sunday, April 14 at 2 p.m. Walkers will gather in the circle outside Heifer International in Little Rock. Participants will walk past the Clinton Presidential Library, walk through the River Market, then cross the Junction Bridge to the Beacon of Peace and Hope at 120 Riverfront Drive in North Little Rock. At the Beacon, walkers and others will gather for a remembrance service at 3 p.m. to “mourn the violence committed in our community, nation and world.” The interfaith service will begin with Little Rock Police Chief Heath Helton giving the keynote address. This will be followed by community peacemakers offering prayers, and the reading of names of homicide victims in central Arkansas in the past year. Victims' family members will also speak about their experience. Parking is available between the Beacon of Peace and Hope and the Arkansas Inland Maritime Museum. Seating will be available and water will be provided. The service will also be livestreamed on Facebook at facebook.com/PilgrimageforPeaceLR.
