Mothers of Major and Minor Seminarians (MOMMS) Prayer Watch

en español

Mary, Mother of all Seminarians,
Pray for them.

In August 2009, Evelyn Hart and Angie Elser, mothers of two seminarians, formed the MOMMS Prayer Watch to encourage all mothers and any interested Catholics to pray for the seminarians in the Diocese of Little Rock and their intentions every day.

maryIn the beginning of the ministry, MOMMS was open to mothers of diocesan seminarians. Each one was asked to sign up for a specific day of the week. On that specific day, any type of prayer can be prayed, such as the Hail Mary, a rosary, a Mass, time spent in adoration. This insures that every day of the week, the seminarians would be specifically prayed for by their mothers. It would also allow the mothers of these young men to share a certain bond in praying for their son’s vocation. This will succeed because mothers will pray.

“Because of my son’s trust and faith in God, I want to guarantee my son that every day of his life he will be covered in prayer, as he begins his journey toward the altar.” — Angie Elser, mother of Stephen Elser, Christ the King Church, Little Rock

"This Prayer Watch has helped build a special spiritual bond among seminarian mothers that brings peace and support to each other along the journey." — Evelyn Hart, mother of Andrew Hart, Christ the King Church, Little Rock

Join Us in Prayer

Anyone interested in joining the MOMMS Prayer Watch is asked to pick one day every week to undertake an additional sacrifice with the special intention of praying for the diocesan seminarians. It is not necessary to contact one of the coordinators to let them know you have joined the prayer watch.

General Intention

For the seminarians' intentions and "whatever the young men need that day”
