Each January, the Respect Life Office hosts a Mass for Life in Little Rock for Catholics throughout the Diocese of Little Rock to come together and pray for an end to abortion. The Mass is followed by a March for Life, which concludes at the steps of the state Capitol. The march is sponsored by the Arkansas Right to Life.
This year, the Mass for Life will be in the Robinson Center Exhibition Hall, two blocks west of the previous location on the corner of Markham and Broadway. The entrance is on Markham, just west of the entrance to the Doubletree Inn. Adjacent indoor parking is available for a fee. Enter to the east of the Doubletree Inn.
The prayer vigil will begin Saturday, Jan. 18 at 6:30 p.m. at the Cathedral of St. Andrew and continues through 8 a.m. Sunday, Jan. 19. Little Rock area churches have been assigned times for participation at the prayer vigil. Adoration will begin before the Mass beginning at 11 a.m. It will be followed by the Rosary for Life at 11:15 and the Mass at noon. The principal celebrant will be Bishop Anthony B. Taylor.
The March for Life will begin at 2 p.m. at Capitol and Battery streets. Please note this change in location as previously announced. Maps are available at www.arkansasmarchforlife.com. To learn more, see the following resources:
