Diocese of Little Rock Advocacy Team
“The joys and the hopes, the griefs and the anxieties of the men of this age, especially those who are poor or in any way afflicted, these are the joys and hopes, the griefs and anxieties of the followers of Christ.” — Pope Paul VI “Gaudium Et Spes”
Legislative advocacy is a tool that all Americans have to improve the common good. Sharing information on the joys and hopes, the griefs and anxieties of the people of Arkansas, with representatives elected by the people as they modify public law, is an important activity as we move toward Gospel-based living.
Therefore, the Diocese of Little Rock Advocacy Team lobbies for the Church's teachings on the following issues during Arkansas' general assemblies: health care, education, immigration, domestic violence, guns, abortion, adoption, prisons and other social, economic and life-related issues. Team members also stay aware of state policies and federal legislation throughout the year and advocate for social justice issues as needed. All lobbying activity follows the published rules for lobbyists.
