Each disaster event is unique and each disaster location is unique as well. If you would like to attend a disaster team training or wish to start a parish disaster response team in your area, please contact us

Parish Disaster Response Teams

Developing teams are in Benton, De Queen, Mena, North Little Rock, Malvern, Fort Smith, Camden and Waldron. Active parish teams are located in:

Examples of Disaster Response Efforts
  • Opening one-stop distribution and resources centers in disaster locations where families can access food, water, ice, financial assistance, case management, guidance with federal and state disaster assistance programs, hygiene kits and/or other relevant referrals as needed.
  • Offering gas cards, food cards and other types of aid to help stranded evacuees return to their pre-disaster locations or to assist them with their integration into new locations when a return to their pre-disaster location is not feasible.
  • Offering crisis counseling, support groups and referral to local mental health services as needed.
  • Serving thousands of meals to local disaster victims throughout Arkansas and thousands of meals for disaster evacuees seeking refuge in Arkansas.
  • Sending food, donated cleaning and building supplies as well as financial donations, to disaster affected areas in Arkansas and beyond.
  • Pre-disaster and post-disaster community assessment and resource development, as ongoing and unmet disaster needs are identified.
  • Volunteer labor crews, technical assistance, repair and disaster specific projects determined by the local parish teams.
