Gospel Without Borders

"Gospel Without Borders" is a documentary that profiles Christians who are living the Gospel message when it comes to treating immigrants as brothers and sisters in Christ. The film was produced by EthicsDaily.com, a division of the Baptist Center for Ethics in Nashville, Tenn. with a grant from the United Methodist Foundation of Arkansas.

It was released on DVD in late August and shows how Catholics, Baptists, Methodists and Presbyterians address immigration and injustice to immigrants in Arkansas, Arizona, North Carolina, Alabama and Iowa. Bishop Anthony B. Taylor was interviewed for the film. Additional footage was shot on location at St. Peter Church in Pine Bluff. The DVD documentary explores the issue of immigration from a faith-based perspective and does not offer solutions or suggestions on immigration reform. To learn more, read story in Arkansas Catholic

In addition to the film, a study guide is available for group study. All U.S. Catholic bishops received a copy of the DVD from the U.S. Conference of Catholic Bishops. In the Diocese of Little Rock, the documentary was presented to all priests at the fall Continuing Education for Clergy workshop in October.

The film comes in two versions. The short version is 31 minutes long in a panel discussion format. It is recommended for junior and senior high students. The longer version is 53 minutes and is ideal for a four-week study during Advent or Lent. To order the DVD and study guide, go to EthicsDaily.com
