Join the MOMMS Prayer Watch

MOMMS (Mothers of Major and Minor Seminarians), a newly formed prayer group initiated by the mothers of the Diocese of Little Rock seminarians, invites the Catholic people of Arkansas to join in their prayer efforts. This new ministry encourages participants to pick a day of the week to pray for the intentions that each seminarian holds in his heart. On that specific day, any type of prayer can be offered, such as the Hail Mary, a rosary, the Mass, or time spent before the Blessed Sacrament.

These additional sacrifices will be offered for all of their intentions because God knows what every seminarian needs each day. Since mothers will pray, the Prayer Watch has already encouraged a special bond among the mothers of these men who were already praying for their son’s vocation. This effort can only be more efficacious and successful with the more people that pray. For more information, go to "MOMMS Prayer Watch" at www.dolr.org.

Parish Disaster Team

Do you have a calling to assist your local community in preparing for and recovering from disasters? Join your local parish disaster team and lend a hand! If your parish doesn’t have a disaster team and you’re interested in forming one, call Bridget Barcenas at (501) 664-0340, ext. 420, to learn more.

Preparing for Disasters

No matter where you live, YOU should take personal responsibility and prepare yourself, your family and your property BEFORE disasters or natural disasters strike. Take time to learn about what disasters might occur where you live. Remember, it’s not a matter of IF, but WHEN a disaster of some type might affect you or a loved one. The best thing you can do to deal with any type of disaster is ... Be Aware, Be Prepared and Have a Plan! To learn more, go to "Disaster Resources" at www.dolr.org or call the diocese's Disaster Response Office at (501) 664-0340.

Please also use these related briefs:

Source: "Family Emergency and Disaster Planning Guide: An Emergency and Disaster Preparedness, Prevention and Basic First Aid Manual" from the Disaster Response Office of Catholic Charities of Arkansas. Purchase a copy for your family for just $5 by contacting Bridget Barcenas.
